About the project

Managed and designed by Wind and Sky Productions, this project has been a joint effort by many people and organisations.

In 2021 Mark Rodrigue from Parks Victoria suggested to the producers at Wind and Sky that the story of the Bass Strait land bridge would be a great way to draw attention to work being done by various parks groups in the region.  There are many marine parks in and around Lutruwita/Tasmania and Victoria, but most people are unaware of their existence.

Drawing together a group of collaborators, Wind and Sky were successful in procuring funding from the Australian Government through the Our Marine Parks grant program.

Guided by a generous team of experts including First Nations knowledge holders and scientists from a variety of different fields, the project took shape. Over the span of two years the story of the land bridge emerged, resulting in this website, a documentary film, an education resource, digital stories and oral histories of the area.

We gratefully thank everyone involved and hope these stories will add to a greater awareness of the rich cultural and natural history of the region.
