Dr Matt McDowell is a palaeontologist at Monash University and the University of Tasmania. Matt has been interested in natural history all his life but has always had a particular soft spot for fossils. He specialises in the study of small mammal remains, usually concentrated in ancient owl roost deposits in caves.
